My Earthquake Summer Vacation

My most Interesting Summer Vacation.

Well, on the 6th of April 2009 there was a huge earthquake in my hometown L'Aquila and 300 people died. Ever scince the

big earthquake, about three small earthquakes take place in L'Aquila every day. Luckily now they are slowly ending. But when I went to Italy in June, I had no Idea what an earthquake felt like, so the first time I felt one it was 10:00pm and I think my scream woke the whole town! ^^

On the third day, my grandma and I went around the safe areas and I looked at all the houses and cracks. It really scared me. After about ten earthquakes my grandma me my mom, my brother and my cousins went to the beach to take a break and I loved playing beachball even though I sucked. The only thing that I hated was the water. There were tonnes of jellyfish and there was a flat fish that you may also know as "Nemos Teacher" that hid under the sand and as soon as you stepped on it it turned and bit your foot... OW:(

After we came back from the beach, we stayed in L'Aquila for two weeks. After two weeks, me, my cousin, my aunt and my uncle went to a place called "Rocca Di mezzo" and we saw some mountains that go up above the ground every 25,000,000 years and go down every 25,000,000 years, but you can't drive to them, you have to walk because ther's no track so me and my cousin had a race to the mountains I got there first but on my way, I came across a lake and you'll never guess what was next to the lake!!! It was a....BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was never as scared as when I saw that bull!!! It was huge!!! So I ran back all the way until I found my cousin and told him the whole story. And of course he didn't believe me so he went to check it out and came back screaming "BULL BULL!!!" we ran to get the adults that were moving really slowly and chatting. When we went to get them they all kept walking slowly because they wouldn't believe me or my cousin, but since my grandma's brother (my uncle) is a scientist at an University, he beat us to the lake and when we caught up he was laughing! " It's a dead cow!" he exclaimed and sat at the edge of the river. Well, that was sure fun!!!^^
